# Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of WorldSweeper ("the Service",
"we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these
Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

## 1. The Service

WorldSweeper is a browser-based, server-authoritative game in which players
explore and claim territory in a shared world. The Service is provided on an
"as is" and "as available" basis and may change, be suspended, or be
discontinued at any time.

## 2. Accounts

- You must provide a valid email address, a display name, and a representative
  color to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials
  secure.
- You must be old enough to consent to processing of your personal data in your
  jurisdiction. If you are not, do not create an account.
- One person should not operate accounts in a way designed to gain an unfair
  advantage or to abuse the Service.
- You may permanently delete your account through the Service's account
  controls. Deletion cannot be undone and resets territory and flags attributed
  to that account as described in the Privacy Policy.

## 3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

- attempt to break, overload, or circumvent the Service's security, rate limits,
  or server-authoritative game logic;
- access the Service through automated means in a way that disrupts other
  players;
- choose a display name that is unlawful, harassing, or impersonates others;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

## 4. User content

Your display name, representative color, and in-game actions are visible to
other players. You are
responsible for the content you provide and grant us the right to display it as
part of operating the Service.

## 5. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or
implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and
non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted,
error-free, or that game progress will never be lost.

## 6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data,
progress, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

## 7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our [Privacy Policy](./privacy-policy.md),
which describes what personal data we collect and how it is processed.

## 8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to
its conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights available to
you in your country of residence are unaffected.

## 9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change
constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
